Why Real?
We've been working with Magento since 2009 and Shopify since 2014. We've seen it all and know the pitfalls and issues that inevitably come up with a migration.
We've worked with clients of all sizes, from startups to +£1billion companies and have experience in all sectors. Our team are passionate, experienced, growth focussed, but most of all, we're Real.
“The professional energy really shows..”
I want to thank you all for the very hard work that went into our ShopifyPlus store; you truly did go above and beyond. All the professional energy that was put in really shows in the end result as the website looks great, and even with some pretty stressful times everything remained steady, clear and high quality. But above that, I am well aware of the personal time and energy that went into it — I know that we pushed really hard and your efforts didn't go unnoticed.
Obviously particular shout out to Ash and Ben for this, you guys were amazing and I really enjoyed working with you both. I would certainly recommend Real as an agency as well as all of you individually.
FAQ’s
What data can be migrated?
We can migrate pretty much anything, as long as the functionality still exists on Shopify we can migrate the data across. We typically migrate products, categories, orders, customers, coupon codes, wishlists and even gift card balances and loyalty points.
Will customer accounts still work?
Yes, although due to security reasons we're unable to migrate passwords so customers will need to reset their passwords on Shopify. We usually recommend sending an email campaign to all customers upon launch promoting the site and the password change, making the process as slick as possible.
How long does it take?
It varies based on your requirements but we typically see migrations taking between 2 and 4 months, for established retailers.
Will we lose any functionality?
It depends. We will work with you to understand your current Magento store and suggest equivalent solutions on Shopify. If there is no direct solution, we'll suggest alternatives that fit your requirements. We often suggest using a migration as an opportunity to spring clean and remove any features that aren't working. It'll speed up the process, reduce the cost, and free-up head-space.
Will there be any downtime?
You usually get a bit of downtime once the domain has been pointed to Shopify but this doesn't last long. If there is a top-up migration of customers and orders we will need to take the current Magento store offline whilst we do the final migration before going live. We will plan ahead and advise of any downtime needed.
Will I lose my current Google rankings?
If you have an existing store, a drop in rankings is expected immediately after launch, however once settled, in most cases your ranking improves as you're on a modern, optimised platform with clean and optimised content.
If you have an existing store, we have an optional SEO migration service we can include for you which we will confirm before we start.
What happens after launch?
The work doesn't just stop at launch! You will now have a solid framework to grow from and our eCommerce team are there to work with you long-term to support you and help you grow. You will have some after-care included in your migration, however, shortly after launch we'll introduce you to our growth team who will continue to work with you.
