FEUK have no internal web development team, so the maintenance of Magento, along with the internal management time to keep the platform in peak performance was taking resources away from revenue growing opportunities.

During our scoping we found that there was a 91% drop off on the basket page and returning visitors converted 59% more than first time visitors. These statistics gave us our north star for the project.

After evaluating multiple platforms we decided that Shopify provide the control they needed, a more hands off maintenance approach and gave them access to the best ecommerce eco systems for innovation to keep them ahead of their competitors.

There was a small price to pay with Shopify as their transaction rates were slightly higher and payments taken in foreign currencies would be converted by Shopify at a slight markup compared to the FX rates the client was used to.

These small sacrifices were worth it so the client could focus more on revenue generating activities.
